Peel Ports Group is proud to announce that it has become the first UK port operator to be awarded the prestigious Gold level membership from the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
Founded in 2012, the Supply Chain Sustainability School is a free learning environment, providing clients, contractors and the wider construction supply chain with access to training, learning and development resources. The school focuses on 17 key areas of sustainability, as well as addressing topics in offsite, procurement, lean construction and management.
Over the past two years Peel Ports Group have been working its way up the membership levels of the school to demonstrate its long-standing commitment to a sustainable future.
The achievement underlines Peel Ports’ commitment to sustainability and acknowledges its ongoing work embedding sustainability at the centre of its supply chain management approach.

Peel Ports Group has unveiled a number of initiatives and investments to help drive a more sustainable agenda and reach the net zero milestone by 2040 across all of its locations in the UK and Ireland.
Peel Ports has invested more than £1.2 billion across the past decade on sustainable infrastructure and technology to future-proof its operations including the delivery of energy efficient cranes, LED lighting and choosing sustainable, low emission equipment and suppliers.
Furthermore, in order to future-proof its carbon neutral needs, the group has also created an Innovation Forum, which seeks to answer some of the biggest questions around the reduction of emissions. The forum tracks down answers from universities, entrepreneurs and start-ups, which in turn pitch their ideas and solutions.
