Looking to kick-start your engineering career through a structured apprenticeship, earning a salary while gaining a fully funded qualification?
Join our Engineering Apprenticeship Programme at the Port of Liverpool and gain hands-on experience across both Electrical and Mechanical engineering. You’ll work on a wide range of equipment, from historic assets to brand new technology, alongside experienced engineers.
Each year of your engineering apprenticeship is structured around the technical skills and theoretical knowledge you need to ensure you have the right skills for your career. You will be working towards Higher Certificate qualifications and there will be a mix of academic work as well as hands-on practical experience.
As you progress through your apprenticeship you will work closely with existing engineering and planning teams, including other apprentices and carry out similar duties under supervision, so that we can ensure you are competent and confident in your role.
Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you may be given the opportunity to study for further qualifications such as HNC, Foundation Degree, BEng, MEng and CEng.
We want to know that you'll flourish during the apprenticeship and succeed in becoming a well rounded, qualified technician. That's why we set entry criteria, to ensure you can cope with the content of the course. For your application to be considered we ask that you have gained a minimum Level 4 Leaving Certificate, 5 A*-C GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including Maths and Science subjects.
Predicted grades will be accepted during the application process and we will confirm these with you once you have received your final grades in the summer.
